We brought our four year old schnauzer to the hospital for emergency treatment for an infection after our personal vet recommended ICU for closer monitoring. I was given an estimate ranging from 1-4 days of care, and a very optimistic outlook from their doctors. 8 hours later, I was told to come pick up my dog because they didn't have enough specialists. We brought our boy up to Oradell and were charged 1800 for 8 hours of diagnostic treatment. At Oradell, they leveled with our family and told us that it would take no less than 10k and a small miracle to keep our dog alive ( without any specialists opinion.) Unfortunately we had no choice but to put our guy to sleep. AERA lied about the severity of our dog's health, charged us a ridiculous amount of money for a short stay, and sent us off with hope to another emergency clinic who was not afraid to level with us, and charged less than $400. Avoid AERA, they do not have a full staff at this time, and you and your animal will be better off with Oradell Animal Hospital for emergency treatment.
