After Christmas, I gave my sweetheart an overnight...

After Christmas, I gave my sweetheart an overnight stay at the Fire & Ice in Neuss. After we visited the ski hall, we checked in at the hotel, this was easily a little earlier than the official Check. In time possible. The lady at the desk was very nice and helpful.
In our room two small Christmas presents, which were part of the Arragements were waiting, as well as a plate with all sorts of Christmas treats (apples, tangerines, nuts, cinnamon stars, chocolate balls ...). Unfortunately, I can not say if the plate stood in each room or also belonged to the Arragement.
After we had relaxed for a while in the room, we visited around 6 pm the spa. Here you first pass the fitness area, which is quite small but hardly visited. There are various cardio machines (each 1x) and a multifunction machine and free weights for strength training. Directly behind is the changing room area with toilets and lockable lockers (for this you need 1 deposit!). From there you get into a kind of lounge room with seating and free water, from which the sauna area and a relaxation room go off. The sauna area has a shower grotto with ice dispenser, a steam sauna, as well as a Finnish and a bio sauna. From the two proper saunas, you can watch the action in the ski hall. A very entertaining idea, unfortunately, the windows are very small. The wellness area was very quiet and clean, so highly recommended.

Also included in our arrangement was a 4-course menu in the Hochalm. This is located in or at the ski hall and was accordingly very well visited during the holiday season. With our booking but a table was reserved, so no problem.
The table was quite wide so we were sitting pretty far apart. You got used to it, but there were clearly nicer seats.
The fact that I am a vegetarian did not pose much difficulty with the menu and we were able to choose within a certain frame that we wanted. All four courses have tasted very good, price is the store in view of our bill (we had to pay only drinks themselves) certainly not the cheapest, which personally surprised me but not particularly, after all, the gastronomy is connected to the ski hall.
We both did not sleep well, which was probably due to the very thick blankets. They were very cuddly, to sleep but then a bit too warm for our taste.
The next morning we visited the breakfast buffet, the selection was sufficient and there was one or the other "special", for example an orange juicer (unfortunately not filled with us), ham for self-cutting piece or a honeycomb. Overall, we were satisfied here, for a 4-star S-Hotel, but not really outstanding.

Conclusion: The hotel is well worth a visit with its wellness area and the food and the value for money is ok, but could be a bit better here and there.
