A guess a few customers lucked out but if you go through reviews you will see people got ripped off many times. I am one of them. A particular contractor Alvidrez Services with ImproveNet was paid a deposit for a block wall. He worked a few days and on each day always had an excuse to leave either for more concrete or nails etc. The last excuse was "I need to get a drill bit", he never returned. I texted him and called his number he never would answer. I had my son call his number. He didn't answer but returned the call later. He returned the call because he knew it wasn't my phone number!

I have tried calling the number on ImproveNet. First time the lady hung up when I explained what the contractor did and to see if they have customer service help. Every time I called after that the call was disconnected/dropped most likely blocked? I also found out that HomeAdvisor does do background and license checks, but ImproveNet doesn't.

I can't believe HomeAdvisor (which I saw stated on a review response) owns ImproveNet because I have A+ experiences with them. I did finally get ahold of ImproveNet at another number, another state. They said they would make a note on his file.

Before you hire anyone especially from ImproveNet make sure and check other sources on the contractor. I felt confident with all the trades I have dealt with from HomeAdvisor so got lax and didn't follow up with this guy. My fault just hope nobody else gets ripped off.
