I had the privilege of acting as conservator, health care representative and held power of attorney for an old friend. Once he became unable to live normally, even with a live-in aide, he was accepted as a resident in a long-term care facility. I had been advised concerning his need to secure Medicaid coverage for the cost of the nursing home, and had also got a recommendation to hire Senior Planning Services to get help with the complications of applying for that aid, and with the stack of paperwork that needed to be submitted.

As part of my friend's "spend down" I signed up with SPS and it stands as one of the best decisions ever. While I still had to do some of the work of gathering information, the SPS rep. who helped me did all the heavy lifting, filing the required information on time and dealing with agents from Medicaid and also the institutions with which my friend had income accounts. Even so, it took months to finally secure the Medicaid coverage, but it would surely have taken much longer, with more phone calls, more reworked papers, more delays, and more difficulty getting the job done if I had tried to do it myself. I am not young any more and I find legal paperwork to be confusing and discouraging. I loved having it taken care of professionally.

I highly recommend Senior Planning Services of NJ.
