Played the Cathedral course on a very windy day in late Sep. With the wind whipping about in an unpredictable fashion, I was actually worried that I didn't have enough balls ! Generally a very open course design with intelligent use of both hazards and bunkers, distance control was absolutely critical . The course also looked visually intimidating from tee boxes if you were playing it "blind" for the first time. If I had to replay it again , I'd use completely different aim points and club selection second time around. Let it be said that I pulled out every club in the bag ! Memorable was the dog left long par 5 7th at well over 600 yds. From the tee box, the landing area looked no larger than a postage stamp with trouble left (trees ) and right ( Steep slope with knee high grass ) . It was playing into a stiff wind too. Finished the round feeling like I'd done battle with a mighty beast, but that really just added to the enjoyment at the end.
