As a little kid I would see this place on the way to the Audubon Zoo, and wondered why it was built on the levee. This was in the late 70's and early 80's. By about 1984, I knew that it was the Army Corps of Engineers, because one of my neighbors worked there. I guess they have a lot of faith in that particular segment of the levee that they built.
What is even more perplexing to me now, is that I am the first person to write a review for them, and it is nearly 10 years and 10 months after hurricane Katrina. How can this be?
Then again, I don't think the majority of those affected by the levee breaches lived on this side of town, or are still in Louisiana even.
I have quite a bit of faith in this particular part of the levee system, and I'm sure they do too, or else they would have moved their offices to St. Tammany Parish, like so, so, many others did after Katrina.
