Something of a mixed bag. We had a delicious afternoon tea as a treat on my wife's birthday. Food and service were excellent and the surroundings were opulent and comfortable. But it really lacked atmosphere. There were few people around - indeed only one other table for afternoon tea. The tables are in an area that lies on the border between a lounge area and a bar with one playing classical music in the background while the other played, bizarrely, orchestral arrangements of show tunes. They are also on the track between reception and the rooms, as there was a steady flow of people passing with their luggage in tow. The jumble of Mozart and "Doh a Deer" was distracting and irritating. Give it a miss (for afternoon tea, at least). The Merchant or the Galgorm do it so much better at about the same price.
