I had the most awful and humiliating experience at this school as an International Student. I felt discriminated against in the music school office, registrar's office and financial office back in 2014. Once trying to drop a class in the music school office, the secretary mockingly said "I don't understand what you are saying, the secretary who speaks Spanish will be here in the afternoon". She kept on typing and did not even look at me. By the way, my BA was from an American school and spoke to her in English. The International Student's office said I could not work at a church as a music minister, even though the job I had been offered was a music minister position. I checked with a lawyer later and he said I could have lawfully accepted the position, as my F1 visa allowed me to work outside the school as long as the position was tied to my major. The "welcome" session held by the International Student's office was a list of things were "not allowed" to do and all the time they were saying we would be deported. I never felt un-welcomed, mistreated, and humiliated all my life. God worked out a way for me to transfer to a school in Massachusetts and the story was much more positive. I do NOT recommend the SBTS if you are a Latino/Hispanic international student.
