This is not a good place for substance abuse treatment. I feel empathy for any family that has to go through this program. Thankfully I am educated & resourceful enough to call OASAS & request an advocate. My child transferred to this facility from another facility that has closed the doors to adolescents. My child was doing phenomenal at the last facility & the services provided were more professional & beneficial. At Villa of Hope, be prepared to have prior arrangements tossed out the window & being laughed at when following up with the therapist. Be prepared to worry about your child because there s no one to talk to about feelings without the fear of repercussions. Also be ready for your child s support from a previous facility to be denied. Although being objective is key to the delivery of services, rapport with the client and family are very important components to treatment. This will not be found at Villa of Hope. Hopefully enough families will report unethical behavior to OASAS and the state of New York so a thorough investigation will be completed & change will finally come. Until then, I ll continue to pray for clients & their families.
