El Sawy Culturewheel is considered the first private cultural center in Egypt and is the most widespread today and serves as a model for cultural entities in the post-cultural era. The center is located in Zamalek Island, Cairo.

The beginning and evolution of Sakia

Sakia Mohamed El Sawy was the son of the Egyptian writer Abdel Moneim El Sawy in 2005 and named the five-year-old al-Sakia, considered his father's most famous work. He began to think of creating a creative cultural center encompassing all kinds of arts and literature that attracts different layers of the public. The place was chosen under the 15th of May Bridge on 26th of July Street in front of Zamalek Central. It is accessible from the Balloon Theater by crossing the bridge and descending the stairway directly

Mohammed Al-Sawy designed the project and started building it and developing perceptions about the access methods developed by the center with the help of other colleagues. The center began to organize concerts to attract the audience as music and singing are the most widespread arts among the people, and it had a variety and different from the mainstream of music at the time, was one of the most prominent stars of these concerts jazz bands and gypsy music and other cultures and different cultures from around the world.

Many other activities were then introduced to the center. And then began to provide poetry evenings through concerts and then presented separately in private evenings. Sakia recently organized a festival inspired by the idea of the Okaz poetry market under the name of "Okaz Poetry", in which poets from various governorates of Egypt participated and continued for three days.

The Center offers theatrical, cinematic and musical performances, as well as the organization of plastic exhibitions for major artists or young people. Al-Sakia has a library divided into four sections: a public library, a children's library, an electronic library and a library. It contains sections to teach the basic principles of many kinds of arts such as painting. Sakia hosts seminars and workshops in its halls and this is at the literary and scientific level. In addition to theatrical performances, the Center organizes competitions in the field of theater.

This is in addition to the various public, cultural, religious, scientific and technical symposia held by the Telecommunications Association of the Telecommunications Engineers Association.

There is a current trend by the center's founder, Mohammed Al-Sawy to include other sports activities to the Center's activities such as marathons and the allocation of halls within the center for the practice of yoga, but it emphasizes that the center is not transformed into a sports center, Its ability to meet the challenges it faces.

This year Sakia went to adopt a certain idea that is a symbol of the activities of the year, such as the year of minds, which is interested in the activities of thought and others, and the year of wisdom, and others.

El Sawy Culturewheel activities are funded by donations and annual contributions of more than 10,000 members. The center is frequented by more than 20,000 visitors a month, and has a website frequented by about 150,000 people a month
