My daughter went here a year ago, with my son in law to have my first grandson my daughter was in 3 days before having the baby they had to break her water. Every time she was having a contraction and they would ask her a question my son in law tried to answer the question they'd ignore him when she paged for a cup of ice at 4am she didn't receive it until 7am neither of them having anything to eat until she gave birth the nurses that delivered him was better than the rest of the staff. After she had him she planned to breast feed they refused to help her and finally forced her to bottle feed him then after they realized that he had jaundice at 4am the day they was supposed to leave the hospital they didn't put him under the lights or anything knowing there was no sun light, instead they had to drive back and forth for 2 days until finally admiting my grandson for the jaundice they also don't feed fathers at all they charge $6 for a tray of foos and you dont even get to pick it out or anything they can't even share a tray or anything when he was born my son in law just lost his job they had no money instead we all had to bring food for my son to eat, then when they admitted my grandson my son had to go to the house to get stuff for them at the hospital my daughter was experiencing postpartum depression blaming herself for my grandson having jaundice and seeing her son under the lights iv in his arm unable to pick him up no matter how much he cried I couldn't stay with her since my husband was in St. Michael's due to a stroke I asked the nurse to try to talk to her to find out they just gave her food and told her "sit down and eat" how can you sit down and eat seeing your first born in that condition then when she went to change his diaper his iv came out of his arm blood was everywhere they rushed him out of the room and went to put another one in they then had to take blood from my daughter to find out that the nurse stuck herself with a needle and no one told her if it was before or after they stuck the baby. In all it was a horrible experience for my daughter and my son in law, he tried to talk to the head nurse about it and she just gave them a suvioner silverware deal trying to pull it off as if it was special when someone came door to door giving it away to everyone who had a baby. I believe they should feed the fathers just like mothers the same thing mothers get they should also put babies under the light as soon as they find out they have jaundice even if it's for a few hours just to help them get rid of it if the mother is feeding the baby the baby doesn't need a IV and when it comes to PD it should be helped not ignored she blamed herself everything that happened to her baby on herself. She'd rather give birth at home then there ever again!
