I have decided to edit a long winded and scathing review that I left a few days ago at the result of an encounter I had at this store, which left me disheartened. For the most part the staff at this location are attentive and friendly. The store does have very expensive and high end items. If there is something I know I need in this realm, I try to purchase it here because I know it supports a local business. However, I had an experience with an employee that left me bummed out. I recently read an article about how some shops like this are edging out people who are trying to get into new sports by having an elitist attitude, and failing to be ambassadors to these sports.
I caught a whiff of that attitude from an employee here. I don't believe it is a common occurrence, and it may have been a result of negligence or a response to hearing me say something that has been heard a hundred times. ( I made a comment about the price of some items I was looking at, very expensive but also high end items). I have worked retail before, and I know that it can be frustrating having people ask the same stupid question, or making the same ridiculous comment that everyone else says. But I also believe that it is important to give friendly responses to things that customers say. Which i don't believe was the case in this matter.
It is obvious that the employees who were working when I came in were very knowledgeable. The only recommendation that I would relay is for them to be ambassadors to the sports they represent, and remember that a customer may know nothing about the purpose and functionality of the gear.
