Horrific Billing Practices

Horrific Billing Practices
I was seen at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in the emergency room on 12/28. With the Abbott Northwestern bill, there was no problem - I received it a few weeks later, paid it and went on with my life.

Then I receive a bizarre call on the phone asking for me to provide my social security number and birthday, which when I asked why, was simply told they couldn't tell me unless I provided that first. When I asked for a number I could call them at, they refused and said they'd send me a letter in the mail.

Nothing ever came.

Then end of June, I receive a letter from a collections agency AT MY PLACE OF WORK. Nothing ever send to my home, no bill, nothing. Abbott Northwestern had ZERO PROBLEM getting my address correct and billing me, yet this company somehow could not. When I called them, I was explained how it was my fault, and when I asked for a supervisor I sat on hold for 15 minutes until I finally hung up in frustration.

I called the collection agency, paid it through them because I want them to get their cut of the money at this point as they Emergency Care Consultants quite frankly doesn't deserve a single dime at this point.

I am calling Allina next to discuss their partnership with this company, and am referring them to review the other Google reviews here if for further evidence of their terrible billing practices. Maybe they will partner with a physician group that can correctly bill their patients, rather then sending them off to collections.
