My family recently visited South Padre Island for vacation, and we found The Grapevine Cafe online with very positive reviews. For anyone who is not a local, they are not set up to be a stand alone coffee shop. Although the workers were very friendly and helpful, they did not understand my request for a cafe au lait, which is a simple custom drink most other coffee shops could accommodate. They also did not have a garbage can in the lobby for trash, so I had to carry my straw wrappers with me to throw away in my hotel room. I found my cafe latte to be average, but my family members seemed to enjoy their flavored lattes, such as the vanilla bean variety.

We did not have a chance to sample any food, yet they had a number of interesting products in their cooler, including goat milk smoothies, bottled juice, and desserts. The reviews to me seem a little exaggerated when it comes to the quality of their coffee operation. I would not return, but I'm sure other people might enjoy this establishment.
