I had a convenient, quick appointment for a blood draw. The woman at reception was very curt and rude, however, despite not being very busy. I simply wanted to ask her a few simple questions about checking in and she rudely deflected me to signage and lectured me about how nobody pays attention and they ve they ve been handing queues the same way for 5 years. I explained to her it was my first time ever doing blood draws at Kaiser (I m new), but that didn t help much. I think it s important to remember that, though people working a job like that live in that world every day for years, sometimes you ll encounter people unfamiliar with the system. Good, compassionate healthcare begins with encounters like this and unfortunately that left a sour taste in my mouth first thing in the morning.
