A average club at a premium club price. MAC may be great for tennis, but for fitness it's an expensive club with limitations. The target age group is older, most of the member seem to be doing rehab, not working out. They have lots of cardio machines, and a good number of resistance machines, but the free weights are tucked away in the corner with no room to safely lift.

I've been a member at the University Club and Sports Club L/A in Boston; MAC is just below their price point, but not close in service, atmosphere, etc. My co-worker has been a member for years, he confirms it is not a friendly atmosphere among the members.

I upgraded my review to 3 stars after they finally sent me a check refunding my money for the "free" trial. It took a month, follow up from me, and more that a few questions (i.e. not "no questions asked") before the refund was processed. If you're doing the free trial, then ask lots of questions, carefully check your credit card statements and get everything in writing.
