If you are considering contacts, I recommend seeing Bernice at Kanata Optometry Centre.

She is fun, patient, and knowledgeable. She cheerily explained to me several methods of inserting and removing my lenses. She helped me insert and remove the lenses three times in less than an hour (at another centre, it took me over six long hours without success).

Not only was Bernice relaxed, but the entire centre was. The training room door stayed open as I was trained. Touching my eyes was therefore less scary, since I was not in a tiny, quiet, serious room.

I had a lot of fun there, although I have always been scared of touching my eyes. I recommend this place, especially to those with children or who are nervous about this kind of thing.
