Josh (dirty blond with glasses and a mustache) hired me and my girlfriend on March 5th. They told us to come in on the 6th for paid bicycle training. We arrived about 10:30am we checked in with the receptionist with the knee brace on his leg (short curly hair). When we came to our bike training class Michelle (works with upper management) handed us our bike helmets. Tyler was our bicycle trainer. We didn t leave until 6:30pm. Another coworker we were training with was Timothy. I m not sure if he got his check, but as for me and my girlfriend it has been 2 months of calling and trying to talk to someone in management. The first time we called about the checks, the receptionist asked us for out names, email, and phone numbers. Then next time we called, the receptionist acted like he didn t recognize us and told us we were not in their system. We called many more times and spoke with another receptionist Anthony, he ultimately told us that management was not going to get a hold of us and they were not going to pay us. In the state of Oregon, you must be cut a check within 2 days of leaving a job. A terrible company to work for and will not pay you until you sue them, which I plan to do.
We turned in our bike helmets a little too early I guess (March 8th, about 11am). The reason we had to leave the job was because we just moved here with low funds and could not afford the parking or train cost every day. Tyler (our bike trainer) told us there was $5 parking which turns out is non-existent.
For anyone applying for this job, DON T! They will not pay you and will charge you $200 something for DPST training, Finger prints $21, parking is $14+ per day. They promise you a Tri-Met pass discount in the interview, but they won t tell you until later that it takes 30 days before you qualify for it.
If you do apply you could be spending up to $300+ just to start the job. Make sure to get everything in writing especially your pay rate because they will try to mull over that in the interview. Good luck to the future employees that dare to work for this company and for the contractors that hire them on. This establishment is filled with unethical and very unprofessional group of people. I have worked security for 6 years and I have never encountered such terrible practices. This place should be investigated and shut down.
