I have seen a lot of hospitals in the last ten years, but I have NEVER seen a hospital as dirty as this one. From the public restrooms to the patient rooms and restrooms, this place is filthy.

In the bathroom of my relatives room, there is hair and fuzz clogging the drain. He s a male with short hair... and has only had sponge baths since arrival, so it is most definitely not his.

In ICU, where the wall meets the floor it is curved. It s extremely dirty in this curve. There are sliding glass doors. Where the door slides back, it s filthy. Dirt and trash have gathered in the area. The tile in the ICU bathroom is extremely dirty. The grout looks like it hasn t been cleaned since the hospital was constructed in 2009.

Trash is regularly dropped under beds. No effort is made to sweep it out. In the public restrooms, the multi toilet paper holders are often empty. There is hair all over the floors, the grout in the tile is again disgusting. Why put that type of flooring in if there is no plans to maintain it?

The patients food is awful. My relative is on a restricted diet. One evening at 6:30 he still had not had his food delivered. They questioned where his tray was and were told his food had to be cooked. Wouldn t you think everyone s food had to be cooked? He finally got a tray at 7 p.m. He needs the nutrition to get better and restore his strength, but the meals are so unpalatable that it is impossible for him to eat more than a few bites.

His nurses are hit or miss. Some days they re great, others they are not so great. I know this is not exactly unexpected. He can t get up by himself to use the restroom. He called a nurse three times to have them help him. A relative in the room finally helped him, as no one ever came and he couldn t wait any longer. We had been told that we were NOT to help him out of bed, but were left with no other choice.

I was astounded by the state of the hospital. It is less than 10 years old and does not appear to be well maintained from a cleanliness standpoint. I would hate to be there at the height of cold and flu season. If you weren t already sick upon arrival, you most likely would be upon your departure.
