I used to get the Spanky when Vendettis was at 23 & Mound. The bread was crisp & crunchy, just like a good pizza crust. They were excellent. Tonight I got one and I don't know what they did, but the entire bottom half of the bun was mush. Not good at all. It was greasy, mushy bread and just generally not good at all. Definitely not what they used to be.
