Daniel Miller CPA has completed my personal and business taxes for the past four years. Although he and his team were difficult to sometimes get in touch with, my taxes were completed by him or one of his team members. Not sure what happened from the past few years to now, but this year has been a totally different story. My 2019 taxes have been a total debacle!! It started with a "very brief" meeting, less than five minutes, with Daniel to go over my personal and business tax returns. This was my first feeling that things were not going to go well for this tax filing. Emails went unanswered for weeks and I was told the best way to communicate was via text. What?!! Texts?!! Are you kidding me. You are a professional and have a company email and yet you want to communicate via texts! Not very professional or an secure way way to communicate on a sensitive topic such as personal and corporate taxes. Some of my 2019 taxes were sent by efile, they were esigned and completed, but never filed. It has been a complete nightmare!! Trying to run a business is difficult enough. Add COVID-19, stay at home orders, additional PPE requrements and an accountant that would not do his job had taken me to my wits end. My only hope is that he is able to hire some employees that are responsive and follow through with what is started. As for me and my taxes, we have retained another accountant to try and sort through all of this mess.
