I have stayed at the Toronto Ritz Carlton several times and every time the service is mediocre to very poor. I am an elite member and as an elite memeber I should be provided with free upgrades. I checked in and asked for an upgrade and the lady who checked us in went to a Manager to ask if we can have an upgrade who then said no. The lady explained its family day long weekend and they re sold out of the suites. The next morning I asked the valet employees if the hotel was sold out they told me that they weren t sold out or even close to it. I also checked online last night and it showed suites were available. I too am in hospitality and the service I received here was very poor. I have stayed at other chains of Ritz and I have received upgrades without asking for them but the Toronto location has NEVER given an upgrade to me. I am a frequent guest and stay at the Ritz often whenever I come Toronto. Last night I booked two rooms and as a frequent guest they don t show the same service as I would receive at any other Hotel I m going to for the first time. I am disappointed with the service and will not be staying here again as every time I have stayed here I become more and more disappointed with my stay. There should be more acknowledgment towards their loyal customers with elite member access. My expectations are that this specific location should have more upscale service from management and concierge.
