My wife and I have been staying at the Marco Polo in Ortigas Center for over two months now. The hotel is new and the interiors are still pretty nice. The room sizes are good, views are terrific. Service, however, is horrible. We wanted to like the hotel and more but the longer that we're here the worse it becomes. The staff try, but many seem to lack adequate training. Room service is slow, and often they make mistakes. Ask for confirmation that what you order is what you will get. Check the bill.. twice. Repeat yourself a lot. When the food/drinks come, don't expect that they will be worth the money. Don't even expect that they will be good. Just expect that you can eat it. Some people at the hotel have tried to help accommodate us better for our long-term stay (which is appreciated) but these 'perks' weren't communicated well throughout the hotel so we had to fight to enjoy them until matters were generally straightened out. Maybe if you say here for a day it's OK, but I can't recommend it long term in good conscious.
