This was meant to be a nice relaxing night away with my husband and 4 month old baby. There was an 2 events on the night we stayed (we weren't told) and between 11pm-3am we woken every 20 minutes with people yelling, chatting outside our door, slamming doors, running down the corridor and swearing. It was infuriating as my baby was asleep but me and my husband were wide awake. I called reception at 1.30am and was told someone would come up but nobody did. At 2am my husband got dressed and went down to the reception to complain and the one women on the desk suggested we switched rooms and we should of requested a quiet room. Everyone should have a quiet room! It was the worst nights sleep I have had in years. My husband said he has slept in hostels better. The next morning we complained again when checking out (they had no idea that we complained the night before so nothing was logged). The deputy manager explained that there was an event on the night before and the guest were scattered around the hotel, it seemed like they were all around our room with noise they were making. We got a slight discount from our room and the food we had at the bar. The night before we tried to eat at the restaurant but it was fully booked but there were lots of tables free for the whole time we ate our meal. After sitting down a table become free in the restaurant and they offered it to another family who had just turned up which was frustrating as we were sitting at a table that wasn't suitable for having a meal.
I would definitely not recommended this hotel and especially for a relaxing break, the pool is nice but busy all of the time! I wouldn't say this was a 4 star hotel at all, the wallpaper in our room was ripped and scratched. I have to say that all the staff in the hotel, spa, gym, bar and restaurant are young, I am 28 so it's not a age thing but everyone seemed younger than me.
