King Abdul Aziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) is responsible for achieving and accomplishing six tasks:

Proposing the national policy for the development of science and technology and developing the strategy and plan for its implementation.
Implementing applied scientific research programs for development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Assisting the private sector in developing research on agricultural and industrial products through which it is carried out.
Supporting joint research programs between the Kingdom and the international scientific institutions to keep abreast of global scientific development, whether through grants or carrying out joint research.
To provide scholarships and training for the development of competencies necessary to prepare and implement scientific research programs and provide grants to individuals and scientific institutions to carry out applied scientific research.
Coordinating with government agencies, scientific institutions and research centers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the field of research, exchange of information and expertise and preventing duplication in their efforts.
