Saw a 2017 hybrid sonata limited listed online for a good price. Drive the hour down to see it and test drive it. Worked w Jared who was helpful and fairly efficiently had them evaluate my current car for trade in. In the meantime drove the car whichwas as described and I m ready to purchase. The price was good enough that I thought the endless negotiations would be avoided as the price was fair. But ... of course not. Suddenly the car that was listed at $17891 came out to $22000+ out the door. How the ???? TT&L is approx $1150. Even with other taxes and (garbage) doc fee should have been $19350. The rest? an app service to recover stolen vehicle, an protectant, $500 tint (that was on the car when they acquired it), and interior fabric protection (it had leather). And the kicker - a $1795 Dealer reconditioning fee. $3500 in adds, most of which every consumer review will tell you has minimal value at best. In any event, they would only reduce it to $600. Despite all their insistences, no where in fine print or otherwise when looking through their site on my phone does the * include dealer adds (later found it on the website on pc - but still not there through mobile site.) It was a bogus and all too typical up charge and just a different version of bait and switch. Never in my lifetime of buying cars have I had a dealership not honor the ADVERTISED price plus the listed doc fee, taxes, and TT&L. The fact that they NEVER INTENDED to sell it at the price they advertised is enough for me to not have any interest in going back. 3.5 hrs of my life wasted on a deceitful practice.
UPDATE - once this review was posted, the General Sales Mgr Mike Oatman contacted me. He was cordial, polite, and apologetic. He also so generously offered to honor the advertised price on the website, but nothing better or in addition. While appreciated, the fact is, it only happened after I posted a review. A special offer that is the original offer isn t really so special. I ve since bought a car at Huffines Subaru Corinth. Much more positive experience.
