I heard a lot about the rio grill in carmel and while my wife and I were there on a weekend vacation we decided to try it out. Boy we hated it. First of all, we were given a table by the waiter next to a noisy group of people. Afterwards I had to ask the waiter TWICE to move us until he found an appropriate spot for us even though the restaurant wasn't full.

After we ordered the food was not as great as I read online. I ordered the eggplant sandwich with grilled veggies. The veggies were over grilled and it had some weird sauce that tasted like burned out plastic. My wife ordered the pasta salad and got a bland mix of boiled veggies with tiny bit of pasta. She had to push a lot of veggies to the side just to find a few pieces of pasta. I asked her how it is and she replied that it tastes like hospital food.

Bottom line - we were very disappointed!
We will go back? not in a million years. We've never been so disappointed from any restaurant before, and we eat out a lot.
