A lot of insurance companies will not insure dance studios. The Shepherd Group worked with me when I opened my studio 15 years ago, and I have since moved my home and auto insurance to them as well. In April of 2020, during COVID-19, I emailed them to see if I could get a break on my insurance for the studio since I can't have any students in. Leon Lim looked into it, and emailed me back with a couple of options, but they would also have meant I wasn't insured for online classes. Since I am teaching online classes, they wouldn't work, but I thanked Leon for his time. He emailed back a couple days later with another option, a smaller discount, but still something. I emailed to ask if I needed to fill out any paperwork, or if there was anything else I needed to do. His reply? No need, he took care of everything for me, and I would be getting a cheque. When I got into the studio - it was there! I emailed Leon to say thank you, and his reply said, "Please know that you are not alone." So yeah, never thought it would happen, but there I was, tearing up at an email from my insurance company! I appreciate that they always go the extra mile for me.
