This is a new post, 12/23/2017. Since AMITA has taken over this ONCE outstanding hospital group it seems it's become more worried about money, cost cutting of staff and amenities like a padded chair for patients to sit up in, one may as well go to the old cook county hospital.

They are also pushing to have hospitalist take the place of your physicians and doctors while admitted. These folks could care less about the patients other than kicking them to the curb as soon as humanly possible.

My heart goes out to patients, PCT's and nurses as well as my prayers for all those this inhuman corporation is doing to St. Alexius. They are just trying to make money off a once great name.

I have been hospitalized there several times both as walk-in through the front doors three times through emergency with heart attacks and once by ambulance for acute pneumonia. I have been there when it has been quiet and at times where we were stacked up in the halls. The PCT's, Nurses and doctor's were all and always tremendous, going the extra mile to make sure I got the care I needed.

Perhaps if those folks who really think the nursing staff was so awful they should try Sherman's ICU or better yet a regular doctor and stop using the emergency room to get a diagnosis on some unknown aliment via emergency services time after time.

St. Alexius, THANKS SO VERY MUCH for saving my life on more than one occasion. You and the entire staff as well as those at Northwest Medical Group will always be in my prayers for all you do for your patients.

And the food not bad either, thanks Mrs Murphy.
