Viola Review of Yauatcha

I really wanted to like this place. I've been seeing ads on FB, hearing good feedback from friends, I finally decided to splurge and treat myself.
My experience didn't really justify the price they ask for (luckily I went with eat out help out, so there's that), expectations were high and I'm a bit disappointed. I'm sure there are less established restaurants out there able to offer a similar experience to yauatcha, but for a smaller price.
The food was good, especially the dim sum - the mains were ok, I wasn't too impressed tbh.
I went with my partner and we took 2 different set menus, the explorer and the taste of yauatcha
We also got a drink, the Tokyo cooler - we weren't impressed. The dim sum from my menu arrived in 30 minutes, my partner had to wait 45 minutes for his first dish. The service in general was really slow, it took us forever to finish the meal. When time for dessert came (1 macaron each?!), The waiter told us that (luckily) they were out of macarons, so they brought us a chocolate cake instead - I'm sure we traded up.
We dined outside which was pleasant enough, but after seeing the interiors, with music, water tanks etc, I fell like we've missed out on the vibe, so I'd recommend eating inside.
There are a lot of expectations with a place of this calibre and I left unsatisfied.
I don't think I'll go back, unfortunately.
