Computer system obviously had a glitch! I stayed at this hotel the last night of my vacation. I used my AE credit card to check in without incident. I then ordered a drink and a meal at the bar. I produced another credit card for payment. I was told there was a problem with my card and I/they needed to call before the payment was authorized. The bartender asked for another card. I shrugged my shoulders and handed her the card used for check-in. Again, I was told there was a problem with THAT card as well. Okay, so now I am pretty much humiliated. I call Amex Ex on speaker phone at the bar. AE had NO record of any charges placed for that amount . Neither did my other cc company for that matter. I know it was not the staff's fault, but it could have been handled better in the presence of others.
