I went to BMW of Ridgefield with my boyfriend to buy a truck we saw on their website. Walking in the store I felt out of place due to the unwelcoming environment and the coldness of the sales personnel. We asked a salesman to look at the truck. He took us to the truck. It was very obvious he had no basic knowledge of the truck. The only thing he commented on was the stitching of the interior.... There was no knowledge of the fuel type, transmission or towing capacity. He couldn t even figure out how to open the tailgate. I would have felt sorry for the guy had he not been so arrogant. When taking the test drive the salesman walked over to the passenger side and hopped in not even asking where I preferred to sit. I was taken back by this due to experiences I ve had at other dealerships where the salesman walks me over to the passenger side and opens the door for me. In the end we attempted to put a deposit down on the truck so we could go home and talk things over. The salesman was personally offered by this and said they didn t do that there, it being against their policy. My boyfriend, who has purchased many vehicles in the past never heard of this and started going back and forth with the salesman. At this point we called a manager over. The manager being just as arrogant and ignorant confirmed they do not take deposits. We walked out that day with no truck but went to Papa s Dodge of New Britain. I am happy to say we now have a 2020 Dodge Laramie. The sales personnel at Papa s Dodge let me sit in the front seat and even opened the door for me. Thank you BMW of Ridgefield for helping us make the decision to never do business with you and tell everyone we know about the way you treat your customers.
