We adopted a cat from here over a year ago and I just had to finally write a review. I LOVE my cat, but the adoption process was horrible and I do not trust that this shelter is rehoming these animals to the best, well-vetted homes.

Back then, my boyfriend and I did not have nearly as much knowledge about cats as we do today. We were naive in thinking that all fluffy animals were going to love us! When three cats my boyfriend tried to pet (even though they were hissing) scratched him and drew blood every time, I realize now that it's because there was no oversight on any level. Additionally, this many uncomfortable cats is not a good sign!

While trying to learn more about each cat and how best to choose one, the staff were all very rude and refused to talk about more than one pet at a time. We had to pick one card, exit the room of cats, sit down with someone to learn about the cat on the card, and return to the room and grab a new one to learn about another cat. What a crazy process!

I wish I could have just described what I was looking for in a cat and had them suggest a good fit. Instead, they never asked what we were hoping to add to our family. We were first-time adopters yet had zero guidance.

The cat we ended up with has severe anxiety and will stress-puke anytime strangers are over. I will never get rid of her and I'm so proud that she improves every month (shy cats are a slow process), but I could never recommend this shelter again due to the state of the cats and their unwillingness to assist uneducated potential adopters.
