I work in Lewes regularly and stay in various places nearby: Eastbourne, Pevensey Bay, Hawards Heath, etc and I make a point of trying all the fish and chips in each place I stay and I can say that South Street Fish Bar is one of the very best. They know how to make batter properly crisp and the chips are always just perfect. I have the option to pick any kind of takeaway but will always go out of my way to eat here (and don't be put off by the look of the place, it's the high quality food that is what's important!). I'd rate this higher than 5 if I could.
