Good rooms, especially the suites. I think it suffers from being a little understaffed, possibly with a high staff turnover. I've stayed a few times over the last couple of months and there always seems to be a new team member who's slightly overwhelmed when a queue for check-in/checkout/bar forms.
I'd give the restaurant and bar a miss, and head out into Mickleover or Derby. Service in the restaurant can be incredibly slow. I just waited 25 mins to have my order taken. A couple of weeks ago, it took 40 mins for fish and chips. And make sure to double-check the receipt. Items that "aren't available" might still be charged for if you asked for them.
I like the hotel and the location, but the restaurant and the staffing levels really let it down.
