It's a beautiful place whether you come for an exhibition or other function. Helpful and friendly staff. Smart loos. No cafe and very small shop, but their exhibitions are always interesting. You can see the Roman remains too, and their permanent art displays have something for everyone. At present they have on display the original Magna Carta, the later edition. Very impressive. Be prepared for a bag search on entry, but with politeness and a smile.
