I recently went to a music festival in Austin where this event services company was working. The whole day was great until I asked a staff member if I could get out of the packed crowd because my blood sugar was low (36, to be exact) I'm a Type 1 Diabetic and hate having to use my disease as an excuse for an type of special treatment, but decided to ask anyways. He preceded to belittle me and assume I was lying, and told me I could leave if I wanted and pointed to the huge crowd behind me I would have to get through. I watched him and other staff members let numerous people leave through the gate, why he decided to be sarcastic about my sistuation; I have no idea. Just because I don't have a visible disability, doesn't mean it isn't life threatening. I would have been fine with denying my question if he wouldn't have acted like I was lying and mock me in front of the people around us.
