Paula Hiott Review of Table Rock Fellowship
This was the most unwelcoming not come as you are,...
This was the most unwelcoming not come as you are, church. I came up to Oregon, from California to visit my son and grandson, and picked this church from hearing the pastors online message and their, "come as you are" statement. Not one parishioner or elder said hi to my family and I. My son and his wife got dirty looks from some of the elderly ladies working in the childrens church, and elder's standing at the door. No smiles, no hi, no welcome, for any of us. I was appalled, my church here makes it a point to welcome everyone, no matter, race, gender, or how they dress. I would not normally say anything but I felt bad for my son and wife, because I thought maybe this could be a church they could go to and feel excepted and loved, and not shunned as they have at other churches, they are in need of spiritual unconditional love and guidance. I have to say it was ironic, since the pastor was giving a sermon on loving others as they are, not judging outer appearances, and making people feel like "they matter". And still after church we were ignored. My son will never attend this church again, and he may not attend church at all, as this is the treatment he receives I don't blame him.
On a positive note, the pastor and his message was well delivered and he seemed to be humble and very nice, however we did not see him or talk to him personally. The daycare lady was also nice.
