An amazing looking building, accompanied by an amazing story. Apparently 98 rooms, and 3 secret passages (one of which has never been found), but many of the rooms seem to be given over to administration or storage and so not open to view. The information presented on-site doesn't give a significant impression of ostentatiousness, but to build a personal home of such proportions, and needing around 40 staff to run, nonetheless feels way over the top. One is left to wonder how amazing the views from the building would have been before the skyline became so characterised by skyscrapers, and what the inside may have looked like before it was left to decay.
