This place has gotten to the point where I am depressed by hearing someone mention "school" to me. I have been to this school for a notably long amount of time and oh boy do I have a lot to say. As far as diversity in teachers go, get ready to be fully booked by white women if you're lucky you'll get one male or racially diverse teacher, but the odds of this are unlikelyq. The location is ridiculous, there's a dangerous intersection you have to cross everyday to walk to the building, there's construction all around the area ,and it does NOT feel like a safe zone to me as a student. I've been hit with things TWICE now by fellow students. They offer bus service but god knows how far away the stop is from my house and how early I'd need to get up so I'm resorted to filthy, germ ridden, loud and inconvenient trains. Not to mention the backlash you get if you lose your transpass, which is a student's fault but seriously I need to get home, cut me some slack. The students here are fine, you get a handful of bullies regularly so that's pretty expected, I've made some friends here, but I probably wouldn't be friends with most outside of school since commonly kids make friends because of how insanely bored they are, I do have one or two close friends here though, and a few I wouldn't mind keeping but you'd expect more since I've been here for more then three years. The lunches are overpriced and sub par, they have limited healthy options every since they scrapped their salad bar, and sandwhiches usually don't get ingredients restocked for a while so get ready for your least favorite cheese, bread, or meat, (I was actually excited when this was introduced but the lines and lack of restocking is ridiculous!). Other items you'd tend to purchase nearly cost the price of the lunch itself, such as water, a small bag of chips, etc, the lines in general are unreal! On top of these problems the curriculum is overzealous. I have homework around the clock, and the teachers don't let up about it. If you're fine with homework every night + weekends, then I guess you're fine but I don't feel as fit for it. If you decide to do the work every night, maybe put some extra effort you're thrown into AP classes and get a higher work load (as if that was achievable), that has almost always brung stress to students. The teachers say they understand your pain but, if they truly did you'd think that they'd be even the slightest easier on you. I'm glad to say my time with this school is now limited seeing as I am to be moved to another fairly soon. I might sound lazy to some people and as if I'm being silly but waking up early every morning and usually not having time to eat breakfast, or have time after school to socialize or relax for a reasonable amount of time gets a majority of students cranky. I'm not sure if these are common feelings in schools but I'm disappointed that this school in particular has me so unmotivated, I do as much work as possible but missing one or two assignments somehow fails me because of the inbalanced grading system. This is my personal opinion on this school, thank you for your time.
