To say I am disappointed, and embarrassed is an absolute understatement to my first and last experience with Grand Hyatt Buckhead. I was booked under a wedding block for a king size room. I splurged to stay at the Hyatt for this wedding for multiple reasons, first and foremost that it was for the wedding, and the whole wedding party would be staying here as well. But also, my boyfriend flew from Ireland to come to this wedding, it was his birthday week, and this was a part of my gift to him. The morning of the 23rd I called twice, finally got someone to take my call. I requested early check in that morning to assure no issues, as well as have all my luggage there. The lady was extremely unhelpful, and hard to understand, and she was not sure if she could grant my request. So I asked how I would know she said "I'm not sure." I asked to receive a call if I could check in early and she said I would have to call myself. I did let her know if we could not check in early we would not be in until after midnight, and she said she would notate is reservation. I sent my boyfriend around 12 in the afternoon to go leave our luggage, and ask. Still no response if we would be able to check in by 1pm, but they asked us if we would like the special going on for the night of a two bed allergy free room, he stated no. We wanted to keep our reservation as is. Well it is almost 1am and we go to check in and our room is now "no longer available, only a two bed room is open". WOW. So they gave up our room they admitted by mistake, and they only had 2 full beds. Well that doesn't work, as I didn't pay $175 to sleep on a full size bed, and my boyfriend is 6'3. Tiara and Shonda stated they were completely booked, and there was nothing they could do for me. No suites, no nothing. So we asked were was the next Hyatt was to see if they had room there. Which they did, and stated our room would be comped. Fine. We went on our way to find out we went to the HYATT PLACE, which is not a Grand Hyatt, and definitely not up to par for our expectations. Shonda and Tiara were rude to us. Got an attitude because we were upset, and that was an obvious. Would you not be upset if roles reversed? And then when we got to the Hyatt Place we waited an extra 30 minutes just per request of feather free pillows. What a ruined night.
