I bought a 2016 certified preowned 428i in September of 2019. Recently, the parking sensor showed a malfunction. When I took it in for servicing, I was told that rodents had eaten through the wires and that it was not covered under warranty. I was also told that this sort of thing was seen at least a few times per month since wires were switched to soy based wires. My problem with this is there is no proof wires were eaten by rodents. It sounds like a convenient excuse to deny warranty coverage. If it is true, however, it seems like an engineering mistake to use such wires, and it should still be covered under warranty which doesn't expire until next year. The salesman was nice, but the servicing department is rude certainly not customer focused at all. Profit focused, but not looking out for me.
