The Temple Housing Authoring manages The Kyle, a subsidized residence for elderly, disabled, and handicapped members of the community. An elderly woman and good friend of mine lives there. The cockroach infestation, which is the responsibility of the THA, damaged her smoke detector and they billed her to have it replaced. She has protested the charges and they were denied without explanation. For people who are elderly and on very limited income, the fees, appeal processes, and living conditions take advantage of people who have limited resources and mobility.
