I too purchased a KDK ceiling fan about 2 years ag...

I too purchased a KDK ceiling fan about 2 years ago and after the 1st year the blades started corroding. Bought the more expensive model but it is also making funny noises on and off for the past few months. Stops for a while May be 2 weeks but starts again.
Very disappointed. Need to replace the fan but May be not with KDK. Not the old KDK fans.
