One of the best tourist attractions in Bristol. We booked for a school group including the "Go Aloft" - climbing up the rigging in the rain didn't dampen the excitement one bit. A truly magical restoration and along with the volunteers it tells a brilliant story of Brunel and a time in the past. If you are staying in Bristol allow a fair few hours to appreciate it all, the ship itself is magical, but the museum and dry dock all add to a fantastic experience. To see the underneath of the SS Great Britain with a glass ceiling to keep the humidity below a certain level and preserve the ship and the same time as giving visitors a unique view is truly inspirational. It is very immersive for the visitor and there will be so much that you will miss because there is such a lot to see. All museums should take note as this is what many need to achieve.
