Okay, let me start out with a disclaimer this post is a description of one of the weirdest things that has ever happened to me. So my husband and I spend the New Year in Colorado, and the majority of the trip was amazing. We really had a great trip. The only issue we had during the entire week was with management in the Hyatt Regency in Denver. I ll start by giving you a little background. New Year s Eve, we had a little too much to drink- not that uncommon. I feel like everybody we met that night was in our same boat. All of this, if it weren t for Hyatt, would sound like it was not a big deal, but at around 1:15 am in the hotel lobby area, my husband said something inappropriate, and I slapped him across the face. Not my proudest moment, but I feel like it s not too particularly crazy I walked away, and it was what I thought was the end of story. Unfortunately, that was not the end of story. After I walked away, the manager at the hotel walked over to my husband and kicked him out of the hotel. He took his keycard and told him he wasn t welcome back.
It gets weirder My husband left the hotel, as instructed, but didn t have his wallet. At the time it was 2 degrees Fahrenheit in Denver, so after about 30 minutes, my husband returned to the hotel, freezing cold, since he had nowhere (not freezing) to sleep. When he returned to the hotel, the police immediately grabbed him, and spent about 45 minutes interrogating him because hotel management told them that he assaulted me! Yes, I am not proud that I slapped my husband, but accusing the father of my child, and the provider for my family, that he ASSAULTED ME, is absolutely ridiculous. I m not a legal expert, but after all we went through, I m pretty sure that this meets the legal definition of defamation of character in a slanderous form. It s also extremely sexist. Assuming that he is at fault, solely because he is a man, is extremely sexist. My husband is one of the most laid back and gentile people I have ever met. He has not, and would not, ever, hit me. They have everything on surveillance footage, and I would happily testify for all legal matters that come about.
I have always stayed with Hilton, and this was my first experience at a Hyatt. It will also be my last.
