Cliveden house, wow what an experience really. You have to remember you are kind of visiting someone s home, although it s been turned into a hotel- it still has that sort of feel to it. The main restaurant, was fantastic. Amazing service, the food was delicious. Photos attached. The afternoon tea lounge that s used to host drinks, snacks etc is also lovely. However the service was not attentive enough and there was only one member of staff, which meant you had to chase. The cocktails were very disappointing, definitely expected more. I didn t enjoy one of them. However the wine and champagne options were great. The spa was nice, but outdated. The facilities at the spa were not luxury, the changing rooms were old with little products for use with none of those little touches that luxury has. The cafe in the spa was really bad, the food didn t look appetising at all. Staff were friendly, had a protein shake it was ok. The room we stayed in was beautiful, very grand. A little bit creepy (I found), no mini bar which was surprising but an iPad which you could order whatever you liked. Anyone who s a little superstitious or gets the feels of things around, you can feel the presence around the whole hotel. I was woke up by a lady whispering my name in my ear, a little scary... but who knows, maybe it was just a hello! Overall, I must visit in the summer. The grounds are amazing and you miss half of the beauty visiting in the winter!
