I recently had a two night stay after my kidney was removed and this was the worst experience I have ever had inpatient at a hospital. From the moment we walked in, there was no signage or volunteer to direct me where to go. The lobbies were full of trash and food. I got up the pre-op and frankly, the nurses were so busy that she couldn t even keep track of what tests I was still needing or give me directions on how to get prepped because she was so distracted and busy with other patients. She asked me the same questions over and over. After surgery, they planned on putting me in a joint room even though my husband was staying with me. My family waited two hours for a single room to then be cleaned. Then, the chair recliner was broken so my husband had no where to sleep. When we brought it up to a nurse she just said, That s too bad. He ended up the floor! A lab tech came in and offered a new chair a couple hours later after I broke down crying because no one was answering call button for my pain meds that were missed and I was fed up. The nurses made me feel horrible for any request of water or pain meds. Please remember, I had just had my kidney removed. I didn t get asked my name and date of birth regularly with each medication I received and hands were not sanitized. My room was never cleaned. Honestly, I would never go back there. I d select another physician if I found out they only do surgery out of there. Never again!
