Well where do I start? I've rented 2 houses from rykneld homes and always thought their workmanship is very poor quality but things have definitely got worse. At my last house I had damp at the bottom of the stairs, a work man came out re plastered part of the wall and assured me it's sorted and the damp won't come back, so I decided to wallpaper my hall, stairs and landing as the walls were not good enough to just paint, few months later the damp returned resulting in lovely black marks all coming through my lovely wallpaper, I was absolutely gutted! Also due to my health condition I had grab rails fitted in my bathroom over my bath, the workman actually drilled straight through the wall into my sons bedroom leaving holes and loose plaster in his room and ripped wallpaper, are these work men actually qualified in what they do? I left this as I was too ill to care at the time and was waiting to be re housed into a bungalow, this is when things really got worse. So I got my keys to a lovely bungalow just in the area I wanted, signed up and everything ok, it was decorated throughout very nicely which is the only reason I have given 1 star, so then we noticed the drains are blocked and I have water gushing all over the garden, the boiler is leaking, there's a leak under the sink, the toilet not flushing very well and also leaking, electric fire not working as not even connected to mains, back bedroom window damaged, there was a loose electric socket in the kitchen, very dangerous! Back door was sticking so bad I just couldnt close it, had to get my husband to do it, all these repairs yet I was told everything was checked before I was given the keys, total rubbish! so I had keys to a beautiful bungalow I couldn't move into as the drains were blocked, so I refused to pay my rent until this was done. I was told I would be credited 2 weeks rent to my account but still it is showing I'm 2 weeks in arrears after several phone calls to different people. The service is absolutely shocking and the stress it has caused me has not helped my health condition one bit but they really don't care. When I ring the office most of the receptionists are friendly but as always I'm told someone will call you back but they never do, absolutely discusting customer service! My advice to anyone is stay clear and either rent with a private landlord or a different council!
