Matt Villacarte Review of St.Francis Hotel

Booked a room well in advance for the day after Thanksgiving this year. To start, the hotel didn't bother to notify guests to plan ahead for street closures nor did they come clean to tell guests that their staff would be on strike. Minimizing risk of cancellations I suppose. Profit over customer experience. It took over 2 hours to get close enough to the hotel to walk (thanks to a kind SFPD officer who found me a spot and who also said hotels should be notifying guests of the street closures). I had to walk back though (about
3 blocks) after the tree lighting to get my car to bring over to the hotel. Once checked in, we learned that there was no room service because of the strike. Not fun with a hungry 6 and 9 year old. I went down to the lobby cafe to try to find something for the kids and maybe Irish Coffees for me and my equally frustrated wife. I got in line and waited for about 15 minutes. A second line had started to form shortly after I got in line to my left but I thought that was just for the desserts and pastries. When I got to the cashier she told me that I now had to get in the other line to order which had now grown about 7
-8 people deep. I threw my hands up and left. My wife tried again later with better luck, albeit a long wait but she had to explain to them how to make an Irish Coffee. Oh and by the way, the striking staff was banging drums till about 10pm, kicking off again at 7
am. I was so frustrated I uncharacteristically tweeted my frustration. To their credit they messaged me and told me staff would contact me. I was just going through my DMs and saw that message. It's Christmas. No one's contacted me. Disappointed in this place. It was becoming a regular spot for the holidays for us...until this year.
